I got asked by a student, what the crime rate was like in Yeovil and I answered the student honestly and said I didn’t know. So I did some research and come across this website called www.crimerate.co.uk
When I found this website I typed in Yeovil and it showed me front page, with a lot of information about the hometown of Urban Fox Self Defence. Crime Rate does cover the whole of the country, and I would recommend having a quick look. As some of the figures that I found for Yeovil were quite surprising, so it might be worth having a look for the place where you live.
I had a good read through all the information and was surprised where Yeovil came, compared to the rest of Somerset.

Crime In Yeovil Compared to Somerset
The above graphic is how Yeovil stacks up to the rest of Somerset and I think it makes for some grim reading, especially with the level of weapon possession and Violence/Sexual Offences and the levels are quite worrying. I thought the levels for Yeovil would be on average lower than the rest of Somerset. I admit I have not been through every inch of the website so I can only give a general overview.
The figures when it says about the possession of weapons do not specify what sort of weapons, so this could be anything from a knife to a bat and anything in between. For reference if you get into any sort of altercation with someone who has a weapon, and they want your phone or wallet then let them have it. Things, possessions can be replaced, only ever fight for life. This means if they threaten to hurt you, or a loved one. You fight hard, and you give them everything you can muster and Urban Fox can teach you that. As we can teach what to do in this sort of situation and how best to avoid it if at all possible.
Further down the page, I found this interesting section which showed some interesting if again worrying information. When Yeovil is compared to other places in Somerset it showed some very big differences.

Yeovil Compared to Other Towns of Similar Size
Portishead and Frome are considered massively safer places to live and work compared to Yeovil, with only Bridgwater (please click the link to check the figures) being more dangerous as the crime rate is significantly higher than Yeovil. Bridgwater and Yeovil are considered the most dangerous medium sized towns in Somerset. With high levels of violence and sexual offences along with Anti-social behavior. Which from a self defence point of view is concerning as Urban Fox was set up because everyone has the right to feel safe, with the figures on the web page raises a lot of concerns.

Yeovil Compared to Other Cities
When Yeovil is compared to other major cities in the UK, the comparisons were really worrying. Having looked through the figures and the amount of crimes compared to other major cities, places like Liverpool, Birmingham, Bradford and Leeds are consider more dangerous but then Bristol and Sheffield have lower crime rates and they are much bigger places with a greater concentrations of people.
